The headstone marks the grave of a local farmer in the Hoyland Nether area of South Yorkshire, who died in 1996. The farm is still operating as mainly dairy farming under Ra & Ca Cowgill Son Farming.

The black headstone has an engraving showing a man ploughing with a horse drawn plough. On either side are engravings depicting double bundles or corn.
