This 15th Century house is one of the oldest in Soller and has a relief carving of a man in the moon on it.

The moon is the nearest extraterrestrial to the Earth and the only one where features are easily discernible with the naked eye.
In many cultures there are long held legends of a man in the moon. The legend is based on the fact that some of the visible features seem to form a face. The features of the face are made up of light and dark areas on the surface of the moon. The darker areas are formed from the dark 'lunar maria' or seas and the lighter highlands.
The features are inverted in the Southern Hemisphere and they do not form an obvious image of a face, although the is a similar legend of a Moon Rabbit.
