This would be considered a fairly large church for a village this size. Hilltop locations are common, and this one is accessed by a paved driveway from the main road leading to the village from the highway. There is smaller education building behind the main sanctuary and a brick parsonage off to the side.
The brick tower, with a glass window, contains a single bell and is topped by a small cross. The cornerstone indicates that the building was completed in January, 2006.
Yeonpo is a small port village build in a naturally protected harbor surrounded by small hills. Parts of this area are included in the Taeanhaean National Park although there are no boundary markers.
Yeonpo offers great scenic view and has been the location for movies. Tourism is the mainstay, with camp sites, motels, and restaurants. There is a small facility for small fishing boats, typical of hundreds that dot the Korean coastline.
