The west side of the island of Mallorca (Majorca in English) is quite mountainous and has a number of well marked hiking routes.

Although mountainous the paths are surprisingly easy to walk, although you do need to be reasonably fit and walking boots are recommended. Many of the hillsides have been terraced for the growing of olive trees.

Many of the paths follow old mule routes used to access all the different olive tree terraces.

At this point there are 2 old farmhouses that have now been converted. The one named Son Mico, is a guest house and and also sells refreshments including freshly squeezed oranges and home baked cakes. It is a popular place for walkers to stop, and outside the entrance to the building is the old mounting block.

There is also a small minor road that goes up to the house for the owners and guests staying at the house. The road leads to the C-710 road between Soller and Deya.
