This large anchor is located in the parking lot of Battery Hill Hotel and Suites. It is there to commemorate the redevelopment of St. John's Harbour between 1959 and 1964 by the Department of Public Works Canada.
I wonder what was on this site before the Hotel? It seems that the anchor was here from a previous land holder. Any information from fellow waymarkers would be appreciated.
