North Rustico Beach is one of many beaches that are part of Prince Edward Island National Park. The waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence here are apparently the warmest north of North Carolina, but we didn't find them that warm in early July!
It is required to purchase a day pass or to have a National Park annual pass to enter. The dunes have beautifully soft sand. Cars are not allowed.
I can see almost any activity happening on nice days. With the size of the beach I can't imagine it ever getting so busy that you couldn't find a spot all for yourself. Near the parking lot is a roped off swimming area that has lifeguards on duty during the summer months. When we visited, the jellyfish just happened to also be making their annual two week visit which turned off some potential swimmers. This made for some fun investigation with the dead jellyfish that were on the beach. We could see no facilities to purchase food or supplies so bring everything you need.
