Houses in this area were built in the 1920s and are locally known for their rich architectonic design. This includes features of the surroundings, e.g. this bear statue on the front lawn of houses no. 29/31, An der Krücke, on a massive brick pedestal which is about 1.5 meters tall. The displayed statue actually is a concrete duplicate, with the sandstone original being kept in the Bielefeld historic museum.

Die Häuser in diesem Wohnviertel wurden in den 1920er Jahren erbaut und sind in Bielefeld für ihren architektonischen Detailreichtum bekannt. Das schließt auch das Wohnumfeld mit ein, so z.B. diese Bärenstatue auf der Rasenfläche vor den Häusern An der Krücke 29-31. Bei der Statue, die auf einem soliden, verklinkerten und ca. 1,5 Meter hohen Sockel steht, handelt es sich um ein Duplikat aus Beton, das Original aus Sandstein befindet sich mittlerweile im Bielefelder historischen Museum.
