Ein Weihnachtsmarkt in Frankfurt wird erstmals 1393 urkundlich erwähnt. Der Frankfurter Weihnachtsmarkt findet jährlich im Advent in der Altstadt von Frankfurt am Main statt. Mit rund drei Millionen Besuchern ist er einer der größten Weihnachtsmärkte in Deutschland, er endet immer am 22. Dezember.
Vor dem Römer, seit dem 15. Jahrhundert das Rathaus der Stadt Frankfurt am Main, steht der große Weihnachtsbaum, der jedes Jahr aus einer anderen Region kommt.
Der Weihnachtsbaum des Jahres 2012 ist ein Geschenk der Stadt Inzell. Er ist 120 Jahre alt und über 30 Meter hoch.
A Christmas market in Frankfurt was first mentioned in documents in 1393. The Frankfurt Christmas market takes place every year during the Advent in the old town of Frankfurt am Main. With approximately three million visitors it is one of the largest Christmas markets in Germany, it always ends on December 22nd.
In front of the Römer, since the 15th Century the town hall of the city of Frankfurt, stands the giant Christmas tree that comes every year from another region.
The Christmas tree of 2012 is a gift from the town of Inzell. It is 120 years old and over 100 feet tall.
