The map says that the turn off of Hwy 231 is VFW Road, but the official mailing address is 100 Otter Track Road. The building is in excellent condition and there is ample parking. According to the web page, they have activities for the members and the auxiliary. They are apparently considering participation in the VFW Riders motorcycle group.

"Smith-Leonard VFW Post 4572 has been serving Elmore County, Alabama veterans for over 65 years. Established in 1945, Post 4572 is located in Wetumpka, the county seat of Elmore County. Post commander, John (Jud) Elliot has twice been named All American Commander for his outstanding support of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Veteran's programs. Post Quartermaster Johnny Waller has also been named All American for the excellent work he does. Smith-Leonard Post is #1 in America in membership and in Veteran's Programs. Smith-Leonard post counts membership of veterans from World War II through the current Global War on Terrorism. Alabama has historically been at the forefront in support of America's military conflicts and the proud membership of VFW Post 4572 reflects that support and devotion to duty."
