The Mad Capper sign is a large, 39 inch/1 m, metal animated top hat. The tall, flat-crowned, cylindrical portion of the hat is painted in red and white stripes with a blue and white star pattern at the base, the brim, seen from below is white. A metal plaque hangs from the hat with the name Madcapper painted in red.
The Mad Capper was founded in 1979. In 1981, Richard & Kay Chilson purchased it and grew it into one of the longest tenure restaurants in Stillwater. After 20 years of success, their son Jeff bought the restaurant, and continues the legacy of the Mad Capper.
The restaurant serves a yummy selection of appetizers, fresh homemade soups, sandwiches, gourmet burgers, and signature entrees. Currently they have sixteen beers on tap.
