Located in a stone tower in Baker Park. From the database link below, we learn that the carillon was started in 1941 with 14 bells by the Meneely bellfoundry, Watervliet, NY. In 1967, it was enlarged to 23 bells by Eijsbouts. Finally, the set was enlarged in 1995 with another 26 bells made by Petit & Fritsen.
The control booth is reached by two flights of tight metal stairs. As carillons are designed, the keyboard is directly connected to the bells' metal clappers.
The music is heard throughout downtown Frederick.
