This temple is the oldest extant Hindu temple in Penang island. Founded in 1833, and renovated several times since, it is now a busy religious centre and a tourist attraction. I visited at night, while a celebration was underway. The streets were filled with music and the noisy sounds of people.
The two lions flank the main entrance to the temple. The lions are lengthwise to the doorway and appear slightly less than full sized.
