Am historischen Rundwanderweg auf dem Kapellenberg, etwa 100 m östlich der Hohen Schneise steht das sogenannte Königsteiner Kreuz. Das Wegkreuz wurde 1792 von Hofheimer Bürgern gestiftet und am Weg zur Bergkapelle errichtet. Vor dem originalen Kreuzsockel mit Inschrift und Datierung ist in das Erdreich eine Kniestufe aus Sandsteinblöcken eingelassen. Deckplatte, Kreuz und gusseiserner Corpus Ende 19. Jahrhundert. Die beiden Kreuztitel weisen auf verschiedene Renovierungen hin.[1]
At the historic hiking trail on the Kapellenberg, about 100 meters east of the Hohe Schneise is the so called Königsteiner Kreuz. The wayside cross was donated in 1792 by Hofheime citizens and erected on the way to the Bergkapelle (mountain chapel). In front of the original cross base with inscription and date, a knee stage of sandstone blocks is embedded in the ground. Cover plate, cross and cast iron corpus from late 19th Century. The two cross titles indicate different renovations.[1]
