This old hospital was built by the Portuguese, as a support structure to the plantation of Santa Catarina - which evolved after the independence to a village.
After the collapse of the African Empire, in 1974-75, the hospital was abandoned and it has been taken by the surrounding jungle, offering a special atmosphere to the local.
