Beresteyn is a country house which in 1828 was sold to jonkheer Hugo of Beresteyn. In 1893 Beresteyn became the 'Institute Wullings', a chic boys boarding school with HBS. The house was given a new facade and expanded. During the Second World War the institute closed. After the war Beresteyn became a seminary and monastery of the Capuchin Fathers and in 1954 it went on to the Fathers Montfortanen. After their departure in May 2001 the house provided a home to several foundations, artists and migrant workers.
