The #1 chair lift at Winterplace Ski Resort is a double chair lift providing visitors with access to the lower portion of the ski area’s slopes and the Winterhaven Condo Lodging complex. This lift is the closest lift to the main parking area of the resort.

The lift carries passengers 392 yards to the disembarkation ramp where skiers can take runs on the slopes or retreat to their condo for some rest and relaxation. The resort has a total of 9 lifts – 2 quads, 3 triples; 2 doubles; 2 Super carpet lifts that provide access to 27 slopes, 2 terrain parks and 90 acres of skiable area within the resort boundaries.

Established in 1976 Winterplace Ski Resort was opened on Huff Knob, just southeast of one of West Virginias original (now closed) historic ski areas called Bald Knob Ski Slope. Winterplace Ski Resort is located between Beckley and Princeton West Virginia on interstate I-77 making it one of the most accessible Ski Areas in the Southeast.

Winterplace Ski Resort is a hugely popular ski resort located just two minutes off of I-77 at Exit 28 in Ghent, West Virginia. The resort is popular with groups and families as visitors enjoy the full-service Resort Center plus a 10,000-square-foot, mid-mountain facility called The Mountain House with a great mid-mountain food court.
