In Eastham, on the common and by an old windmill is a water hand pump.

The common is located within US 6, Samoset Road, and Depot Road. There is ample parking along Samoset Road, though don't be surprised to find a big tour bus in your rear view mirror, or chasing you to the car (as it happened with me). It is located a short distance from the windmill to the east.

The pump is red in color, and is in front of a stone trough with some kind of tarp-liner in the bowl. The pump was locked up with a chain and lock. Thus, though I can't prove it, the pump looks like it is still operational. The embossed letters on the pump state "Columbiana Ohio U.S.A." A search on the internet found the company, Columbiana Pump Company in Columbiana, OH.
