The International Appalachian Trail (IAT; French: Sentier International des Appalaches, SIA) is a hiking trail which begins where the Appalachian trail ends. It runs from the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail at Mount Katahdin, Maine,and stretches to the northeast for 1000 kilometers connecting up with Cap-Gaspé.
Passing by Mount Carleton in New Brunswick, it crosses the Matapedia Valley and then goes through Matane Wildlife Reserve. Next, it climbs Logan, Albert and Jacques-Cartier mountains in Gaspésie Park before coming to an end (or a beginning) here at Cap-Gaspé in Forillon National Park.
Le Sentier International des Appalaches (SIA) débute là où l'Appalachien Trail finit. Du Maine, il s'étire au nord-est sur 1000 kilomètres pour rejoindre Cap-Gaspé.
Passant par le Mont Carleton au Nouveau-Brunswick, il sillonne la vallée de la Matapédia, puis franchit la réserve faunique de Matane.
Il grimpe ensuite les monts Logan, Albert et Jacques-Cartier dans le Parc de la Gaspésie pour terminer (ou commencer) sa course ici à Cap-Gaspé, dans le Parc National de Forillon.
