The Tuskegee Square mark (CM2289) has reference points but also this azimuth mark located some three tenths of a mile south.

In planning a waymarking trip to Tuskegee, I noticed this description of the Tuskegee Square azimuth mark in the description for the benchmark on the square. The Square is located in the center of town, across the street from the Macon County Courthouse. The azimuth mark is located along U.S. Highway 29, in front of a school. The mark is located in the curb as noted in the 1943 description when it was monumented.
I decided to look for this on a Saturday so as not to encounter students. U.S. Hwy 29 here is South Main Street. The cross street is Price Street. The 1968 description said it was the intersection of West Martin Street, but that was not the name on the sign or the map, so it was apparently changed. I parked in a parking place on East Price Street and walked to the benchmark on Main Street. Another note is that the 1943 description says it is in front of the high school. It is now an elementary school.
Following are the directions for the azimuth mark excerpted from the Tuskegee Square description:

THE AZIMUTH MARK IS 0.3 MILE SE OF THE STATION SET FLUSH IN THE E CURB OF THE STREET IN FRONT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL (U.S. HIGHWAY 29). IT IS 70 FEET S OF THE CENTER OF THE STREET LEADING E ALONG N SIDE OF THE SCHOOL. IT IS STAMPED TUSKEGEE SQUARE 1943.

THE AZIMUTH MARK IS 0.3 MILE SOUTHEAST OF STATION ON SOUTH MAIN ST., 55 FEET SOUTH OF SOUTH CURB OF WEST MARTIN ST., 39.5 FEET NORTH OF NORTH EDGE OF SIDEWALK LEADING TO SCHOOL, 24 FEET WEST OF WEST EDGE OF SIDEWALK, 92 FEET WEST OF FLAG POLE. IT IS AN AZIMUTH MARK DISK STAMPED TUSKEGEE SQUARE 1943, SET FLUSH IN THE WEST CURB OF SOUTH MAIN ST.

Your Directions:
Drive three blocks south of the Square on South Main Street. Turn left onto East Price Street to park. Continue down South Main Street looking at the curb in front of the school. If you reach the walk leading to the school, you went too far.
