The Peace Monument is located on the top of Monument Hill in Leeds, Maine. It is dedicated to the fallen Civil War solders and sailors of Leeds, Maine. The monument is a granite obelisk, ~30 feet tall, with the inscription "PEACE WAS SURE 1865". It was erected in November of 1895.

Access to this monument is from North Road were you will find the Monument Hill Trail sign at the trailhead.

Text on Monument/Memorial Sign or Plaque: Inscribed on the monument "PEACE WAS SURE 1895". There is a plaque on each side of the monument. These plaques say: "Peace Monument To The Sailors Of Leeds.
