[FR] Dans l’aile Louis XII, six salles sont entièrement consacrées à la présentation des collections de peinture et de sculpture.
Parmi les chefs-d’œuvre exposés, il faut distinguer les tableaux de Lavinia Fontana, Cousin, Stella, Boucher ou Ingres ou bien les sculptures de Lemoyne, David d’Angers et Préault. Un accent particulier est mis sur le genre du portrait au 17e siècle ou bien encore sur l’art troubadour qui, au début du 19e siècle, s’attache à raconter de manière sentimentale et théâtrale l’histoire des grands héros nationaux du Moyen-âge et de la Renaissance comme Jeanne d’Arc ou François Ier.
