"Das Geäude des Olmützer Rathauses (1378), das den Horní námestí (Oberring) dominiert, ist bereits seit sechs Jahrhunderten ein Symbol für die wirtschaftliche und politische Bedeutung der ehemals königlichen Stadt. Das Gebäude des Rathauses ist vierflüglig mit einem Innenhof in der Mitte. Aus der südlichen Fassade steigt der Erker der gotischen Kapelle des hl. Hieronymus hervor, der reicht mit Malwerk und figuralen Motiven geschmück ist. An der Ostseite des Rathauses finden wir einen zweiachsigen Treppenaufgang mit einer Renaissance-Loggia.
