THE KATY FIRE DEPARTMENT provides primary fire and emergency medical services to the City of Katy. There are approximately 45 highly trained and motivated volunteer firefighters. They include the Fire Chief, 3 full time and 8 part time skilled EMS paramedics who respond to citizens’ needs. Approximately 25 dedicated volunteers staff night time EMS. Many firefighters are also trained and volunteer as EMS providers. Modern apparatus fill the Fire Station at 1417 Avenue D. Included are 3 Class A pumpers, heavy rescue and booster trucks, 3 ambulances, and a mass casualty vehicle.The station is also equipped with numerous other types of firefighting, lifesaving and rescue equipment and safety gear for the firefighters.
