Located in the middle of Riga's old town...is this new plaque embedded in the cobblestone street. It is engraved in English and Latvian. The English side reads:

"Historic centre of Riga has been inscribed upon the world heritage list. inscription on this list confirms the exceptional universal value of this cultural site which deserves protection for the benefit of all humanity."
