Museu do Rio is a dependence of Museu de Mértola, and it's located in a small village (Guerreiros do Rio, which quite literally means "Warriors of the River") by the river Guadiana.
The thematics of this museum are the river trade, fishing and smuggling. In 2008 it was inaugurated a new permanent exhibit with the title "Traditional Boats of the Guadiana".
The price of the ticket includes access to other small museums of the region.
