This nice spot for observing mainline operations is about 5.5 miles north of Jean on the west side of the I-15 Frontage Road (Las Vegas Blvd South).

There is a commemorative sign here marking the location where and when the last spike was driven on the line between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City.

There is plenty of parking via a dirt access road about 100 yards from the I-15 frontage road (Las Vegas Blvd South). There is no shade and no other amenities at this site but almost constant rail traffic. A train passes in either direction several times each hour.

Vehicle access is easy and is suitable for ADA access but the surface is uneven dirt and gravel so is not suitable for ADA access much beyond where the vehicle is parked.
