Salem Alliance Church dates the establishment of a tabernacle on the 600 block of Ferry Street in Salem, Oregon in 1923. In 1937, a snowstorm collapsed the roof of the original location, forcing a temporary move to the WCTU Hall near the intersection of Commercial and Trade streets. In 1939, the church purchased the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 5th and Gaines Streets, where it has remained since. The campus has expanded several times through a number of major building projects. By the year 2000, weekly attendance averaged 2,800 people in four worship services.
