They are the equivalent in Montréal and France of the American Art*O*mat machines. Since 2001, more than 30 000 works by over 600 artists have been sold through these machines. There are 9 Distrobotos in Montréal and 1 in Poitiers, France. Distroboto est le nom d'anciennes machines distributrices de cigarettes qui vendent depuis 2001 des œuvres d’art : petits livres en tous genres, bandes dessinées, films, musique, objets artisanaux, et ce à 2,00 $ l’unité! Elles sont les proches parentes des Art*O*mats américains. Depuis 2001, plus de 30 000 oeuvres de plus de 600 artistes ont été vendues dans les machines Distroboto.
