The hydro-electric plant Dalešice on middle stream of Jihlava river includes two reservoirs – main reservoir at Kramolín and equalizer at Mohelno.
It was built for these purposes:
- pumped storage hydro plant
- supply of the nuclear power station at Dukovany with water from the equalizer
- ensuring of water for irrigation
- supply of drinking water
- flood protection
- improvement of hygienic conditions on the stream
- tourism and recreation while the un-built nature on much of the banks is kept, mainly on the right bank
Catchment’s area: 1,136 km2
Backwater length: main tank 22 km, equalizer 7 km
Flooded area: 480 ha and 118 ha
Volume of water blocked: 127,3 mil. m3 a 17,1 mil. m3
Dead dyke capacity: 59,5 mil. m3 a 5,6 mil. m3
Key dam: length at dam crest 300 m, width at dam crest 8 m, width of base seam 300 m, maximal height of dam above the base seam 99.5 m, cubic content of dam 1.95 mil. m3
Dam of equalizer: length 185 m, width at dam crest 7.75 m, width of base seam 32 m, height 49 m, cubic content of concrete 89,400 m3
