The power plant Ryburg-Schwörstadt is located east of Rheinfelden on the border between Switzerland and Germany over the river Rhine. Despite its name it is not in Riburg, a part of the town Möhlin, but on the soil of Rheinfelden on the Swiss side and Schwörstadt on the German side.

The power plant was built between 1927 and 1931 and modernized between 1977 and 1984. In 2010 the concession was extended for another 60 years by the Swiss and German authorities.

With a capacity of 120 MW it is the largest hydroelectric power plant in the High Rhine area. The production is shared between Germany and Switzerland. The turbine house has four Kaplan turbines with a separation of 27 meters. The average height is 8.1 to 12.1 meters, the water flow 1460 m3/s.

There is a path for pedestrians and bikes over the dam and along the turbine house from where a look into the building is possible. The path is an official border crossing.
