This is a small cairn that was used in the 1800s as a aid to marine navigation.

This cairn was erected in the mid to late 1800s and was used as an aid to marine navigation by the many schooners of that era. This cairn is 1 of 3, in the community of Burnt Islands. Please see other waymark for details regarding #2 and #3.

Regretfully the cairn had been vandalized but someone from the community recently put the cairn back together.
