The Schillerdenkmal (Schiller Memorial) in Hannover, Germany, Niedersachsen has been moved twice while it's lifetime. Actually it is located at the intersection of 'Georgstraße' and 'Schillerstraße'.

The Schillerdenkmal (Schiller Memorial) in Hannover, Germany, Niedersachsen has been moved twice while it's lifetime. Actually it is located at the intersection of 'Georgstraße' and 'Schillerstraße'.
The memorial/sculpture was created in 1859 by Wilhelm Engelhard for the 100th birthday of Friedrich Schiller.
It was placed at the actual location.
In 1955 it was dismantled and stored somewhere until it was placed at the opera in 1959. 23 years later, in 1982, it was re-located to its origin location where it is still located.
The reasons for this movements are not realy known.
The monument is listed in the German Monument Registers.
