Effie (population 123) is in northern Itasca County and is home to one of the biggest rodeos around called The Effie North Star Stampede (visit link) which is always on the same weekend; the last full weekend of July, rain or shine.

The material used for the statue is sheet metal with re-rod for the lasso. Three hooves are raised and the fourth one is just touching the top of a six-foot pole.
