Church of St. Anne (Šv. Onos bažnycia) is not only a perfect example of both Flamboyant Gothic and Brick Gothic styles, but also one of the most beautiful buildings in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
Church of St. Anne is a phenomenal example of Lithuanian Gothic architecture and this gentrifies it among other structures in the Vilnius' historic centre. The original early Gothic wooden church, constructed in the beginning of 14th century, was in the end of the 15th century (1495-1500) replaced by this brick one. The church was in following centuries reconstructed several times.
Church of St. Anne was built very minutely and the architect (probably the leading medieval architect of Bohemia - Benedikt Rejt) used about 33 kinds of bricks to construct its main facade. Countless arches, phials, brick patterns, elegant spires accompanied with metal crosses create the beauty of this unusual building.
