A simple memorial in front of Lom Stave Church.

The memorial is a shale plate standing right of the entrance to the churchyard. It reads:

Til minne om Asbjørn Gutubø og Sigurd Strind som galt i kampen for Norge 1940-1945.

(In memory of Asbjørn Gutubø and Sigurd Strind who fell in a fight for Norway, 1940-1945)

No other information is available. I found the name of Sigurd Strind as a 1st mate and radio operator at D/S Fignal, which was torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine on May 5th, 1943.
