The former rectory of Arlesheim is located in the old village center at the entrance of the former cemetery, where also the parish church used to be. The old rectory was first mentioned in 1554 as dilapidated, it was renovated in 1625 but was apparently not habitable a few years later. A new building was approved in 1736, but could not be executed until two years later, because at first Solothurn refused its contribution. It then served as a parsonage until 1913.

The house has three storeys and a distinctive hipped roof. Originally it had a width of four window bays, but it was later extended laterally about an axis. The windows of the top floor are a little lower. Above the entrance is the inscription: Anno 1738 Jahres.
Year of construction: 1738
