Three waymarked trails guide visitors though woodland and grasslands, are displayed, on this 3D map, in the form of raised & coloured buttons, so you can take a stroll through Penallta Marsh, and enjoy the boardwalk and willow tunnel in this wetlands area.

This well thought out three dimensional park map certainly gives you a feel for the park, without this table I would not have been aware of the Earth sculpture, because of the sheer size of the Pony.

Whilst viewing from the map table, if you know its there you can make out, the Sultan the Ponys Head, Eyes & ears. You really need to View it from space to appreiciate the scale of this sculpture.

Sultan The Pit Pony, Carved from a former coal tip, approx 660 feet long, This is the UK’s largest figurative earth sculpture, Sultan definitely looks a lot more like a Stallion than a Pit Pony, and as it turns out, this work (by landscape sculptor Mick Petts) was actually named Sultan by the locals – after a famous Pit Pony that used to work in the old Penallta colliery.
