Aviary in the Basel Zoo - Basel, Switzerland - Aviaries on Waymarking.com

The aviary of the Basel Zoo is located in the center of the area just right to the central restaurant building. It opened in 1927. The aviary concentrates on tropical birds from all continents.

It has about ten outside cages at the South face and two rows of enclosures inside. The center of the hall is filled with tropical plants and there are about a dozen species of birds that move around free inside the building. It is always a challenge to spot at least some of them.
