Wunderschöne alte Holzbrücke über den Samariabach in der Samariaschlucht.
Dies ist die erste der drei Holzbrücken.
Insgesamt dreimal kann man den Bach über solche Brücken überqueren.
"Die Samaria-Schlucht im Südwesten der griechischen Insel Kreta ist mit 17 Kilometern Länge eine der längsten Schluchten Europas. Sie führt aus über 1200 m Höhe fast von der Mitte der Insel bis zum Libyschen Meer.
Wegen ihrer überwältigenden Naturschönheiten ist die Samaria-Schlucht ein besonderer Anziehungspunkt für Bergwanderer aus aller Welt. Während des 13 km langen Weges durch den Samaria-Nationalpark – der eigentlichen Schlucht – gibt es keine Verpflegungsmöglichkeit. Wasser kann aus jeder der zahlreichen Quellen und aus dem Gebirgsbach getrunken werden. Auch der Hafenort Agia Roumeli wird direkt aus dem Bachlauf mit Trinkwasser versorgt. Erst am südlichen Aus- bzw.
