The plaque is in Garry Parjk along the shores of Richmond. The trees are dedicated to the Japanese who came to British Columbia. The plaque reads:
"These cherry trees in Garry pont park dedicated to the pioneering immigrants and ancestors who immigrated from Wakayaama prefecture in Japan and in recognition and memory of the generations that followed.
These cherry trees commerate their accomplishments and contributions to the communities and the legacy of their pioneering spirit, courage, perserverance and leadership. This project was undertaken on the 35th anniversary of the BC wakayama Kenji Kai in 2000. To honour them, with the support and ccoperation of the city of Richmond. On its 45th anniverary these cherry trees are donated to the city of Ricmond for the citizens and visitos to enjoy the cherry blossoms for years to come.
