Gráinne Ní Mháille (c. 1530 – c. 1603), Gráinne O'Malley or Grace O'Malley, was Queen of Umaill, chieftain of the Ó Máille clan and a pirate in 16th century Ireland. She is commonly known by her nickname Granuaile in Irish folklore, and a historical figure in 16th century Irish history, and is sometimes known as "The Sea Queen Of Connaught".
Ireland’s Sea Queen is buried at the Abbey on Clare Island. According to rumour her body was interned within the decorated tomb niche in the north wall of the chancel of the Abbey.
