Der steinerne Reiter mit Keule und geflügeltem Helm am Eingang zum Nerotal soll an die gewonnenen Schlachten aus dem deutsch-französischen Krieg 1870/71 bei Wörth und Weißenburg, Sedan und Paris und an die Gefallenen der nassauischen Infanterieregimenter Nummer 87 und 88 erinnern. Es wurde 1909 nach Plänen des Berliner
Architekten Karl Krause vom Bildhauer Franz Pritzeln gestaltet.
The stone rider with club and winged helmet at the entrance to the Nerotal commemorates the battles won in the Franco-German War 1870/71 at Wörth and Weißenburg, Sedan, and Paris and remember the fallen of the Nassau Infantry Regiment number 87 and 88. It was designed in 1909 by the Berlin architect Karl Krause and made by the sculptor Franz Pritzel.
