Hyundae Tearoom - Jindo, Korea - Tearooms and Teahouses on Waymarking.com

Once tearooms were found in almost every block of a city and in every village of Korea. They have been replaced by upscale coffee shops, bakeries, and cafes. Still, in more rural places, such as here on the island of Jindo, they can still be found. They tend, however, to be darker and sleazier than the bright, cheery places we remember of old.

Here along the main street through the town of Jindo there are many small restaurants, convenience stores (including a 7-11 a block from here), and this little tea room, on the ground level, a next to the Prince Motel. Stairs lead up to the second floor where there is a noraebang, a type of karaoke room that is popular in Korea.
