Numerous recreational activities can be found in the Whitecourt Forest from hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and in select locations offroading.
The forest is public lands with some private industrial road in the area. One of the key activities of the region and ties closely to the length of winter experienced in the Fox Creek area is snowmobiling. The local club "Northland Sno Goers Snowmobile Club" hosts annual trail riding events and help maintain the network of trails associated with the Golden Triangle, an network of over 400 kilometres of trails between Fox Creek, Whitecourt and Swan Hills.
