This is an original but restored Roman column, which was consecrated to the supreme Roman god "Jupiter". The column is located in the Lapidary in front of the Roman Museum in Rottenburg, Germany, Baden-Württemberg.

This is an original but restored Roman column, which was consecrated to the supreme Roman god "Jupiter". The column is located in the Lapidary in front of the Roman Museum in Rottenburg, Germany, Baden-Württemberg.

The column was found in 1843 during construction work.
Their original height is estimated to be 11.5 meters (33 feet).

This is the largest still existing Roman column in Rottenburg. It is a type of column, which was much common in this area of the Roman territories.
