The most famous motorcycle road-racing event in the world. Takes place every year in late May/early June. The coordinates are for the start/finish and grandstand in Douglas.

The course is 37.75 miles in length, the major races being 6 laps. The roads used are tight, winding public roads (obviously, closed for the races!): some sections are through towns and villages, others over high moorland. Yet the average race speed of the top riders is nearly 125 mph - very dangerous!
