The Brooklyn Town Pump occupies a highly visible location in the center of the town of Brooklyn. It can be found on the north end of the town green at the intersection of two major highways that intersect the town. The east-west US Route 6 and the north-south state Route 169 just south of the Brooklyn Town Hall.
The pump is painted blue-green pump and is centered underneath a wood framed roof having a four gables. The shingled roof is supported by four 8' high field stone columns. It is one of the iconic features of the city and is shown on the city-data website. The pump is also show on old post cards from 1942 and has a book written about it which is available in the Brooklyn Library. The local Woman's Club gave the pump to the town in 1911. The pump was manufactured by the Columbiana Pump Company of Columbiana, Ohio.
