This natural rock formation of an Indian Head is on the eastern side of a small Mtn. and about 750 ft above sea level! I have read about people seeing it as far back as the late 1770's! Some back in the 1960's got the bright idea of painting it for better viewing and is painted and cleared of trees and brush every other year by some civic group even though it's on private property! You used to be able to take the trail up to it and still can but>>>> don't get caught or in jail you will land!
Getting to see it I have you Start at the Cressona malls parking lot> N 40 38.428 w 076 11.074 and go east towards main enterance to traffic light and go straight across Pa.St.Rt.61 to Left on State Road 2006, Township road 649(sevenstars road) an about 1 mile to you see a space to park on your left by Blue pipe!
Indian head is to the left and up!
After your photo/visit. You can do a U-turn here or go straight ahead; To Pa.St.Rt.61 North!
I have you go this way and park here because Highway 61 is TOO DANGEROUS and has NO parking!
Enjoy
