"The bas-reliefs authored by Albert Freyhoffer narrate the evolution of transportation in Brazil, from walking through the jungles of the Indians, passing by horses, bullock carts, diligence, reaching the modern era with the car. Altogether there are eight panels that make up each corner of the quadrangle that forms the base of the monument."

The Panel sculptures are 12 meters wide by 7 feet high. The stone is from Caen (France). On the topic to the riches of Brazil. Sculptor Albert Freyhoffer

This was found in a closed off rest area. You can park at the bottom of the hill and walk up. It is only available from the Eastbound part of the road, as the road is greatly separated beween East and West at this point.
