The Montagne Noire is the highest mountain in Saint-Donat with its 872 meters (2861 ft).
The "Sentier de la Montagne Noire" forms a section of the track Intercentre, which links Lake Archambault and Lake Superior on thirty kilometers, between the regions of Lanaudière and the Laurentians.
The route is 12.8 km round trip. It is open all-year round and there are separate ski trail and snowshoe trail.
It is specially beautiful in autumn.
The trailhead is located on Chemin Régimbald and advertisements say "Sentier Inter-Centre".
This trail will bring you to a historical site. Near the summit lies a crashed B-24 Liberator plane. This bomb carrier crashed while doing routine exercices in 1943.
